Joy Box 1 Reveal- Floral Theme - December 2020

I am so happy to be able to finally reveal the contents of our very first joy box!

When I first came up with this idea, all I knew was that I really wanted a wholesome box. I wanted something that would be meaningful especially to bring joy in pandemic times. We all knew 2020 was rough, and small business took a hit. Craft shows were cancelled. Livelihoods were at stake.

The thought of amalgamating fabric and little goodies instantly resonated with me, and ta-daa the Joy Box was born. In this process, I have discovered so many hidden talents within our community and country; and I am excited just thinking about the many more I can find and support.

In addition to hunting down these hidden gems, I also have had the pleasure to create special artwork that I am sure you will love as much as I do! Each fabric was created carefully and meticulously with a passion and vision to correlate with the theme of each box.

So enough said...

Here is a little peek at what our December 2020 box held.

Firstly let us talk about the fabric since that is what we are all about, right?! I am biased but I love them. Florals are my favourite to paint, and I am just thrilled over how these turned out. I love the soft, dreamy, earthy colours and how this trio compliment each other beautifully.

We included 2 metres of each handpainted design in our 3 fabric bases for a great variety: jersey, bamboo french terry and bamboo lycra. I hope these are love at first sight for you and hope to see many beautiful makes!

And now for the non-fabric goodies, here is the lovely spread!

(Flavours/designs might be slightly differ depending on what was available but come from the same vendor)

Vendors supported through this box:

Master Indian - Be the master of your very own butter chicken meal using their secret recipe of spices! I love a good butter chicken meal and I was able to stretch 1 box of this by adding carrots and potatoes to feed our family of 6!

Check out their website- they offer free

shipping to Canada for every order!

Uptown Sox- is a Canadian company with the cutest socks for all! We all need socks so why not keep feet warm and cozy this winter in their lovely designs!?  Now, cuddle up on the couch and enjoy a cup of carefully crafted tea blends from Grow Tea Company! Its founder Jordan was just thrilled that we would support her passion and dream, and I was so happy to be able to do just that. It is also the best season to cozy up with a cup of freshly brewed tea and your favourite book! Check her website out for many other different varieties!

Soap So Co- Beautiful hand-crafted soap, in the most amazing scents and colours, made in Edmonton, AB. We couldn't decide what we loved so we bought a variety! The scents are heartwarming, not overpowering and the colours and swirls that come through each bar is just breathtaking! Best of all, they sud beautifully.

Kick Ass Caramels - Trust me, take a bite and you will be addicted! Even before the box was revealed, I have had customers messaging me to ask for more!! Gluten-free; and made from cream, butter, sugar and corn syrup- their kitchen is located in Stony Plain, and smells heavenly! They were also wonderful to deal with!

Also with each box, an art card designed by yours truly, and waterproof vinyl sticker of the coordinating floral bouquet was included. Being weatherproof and even dishwasher friendly, the sticker is perfect to stick on anywhere- your sewing machine, or even your travel mug just like what I chose to do here! :)

Well, that is it for this box!

With wintery days ahead, what would be better than cuddling with warm cozy socks, over a cup of fresh tea and a comforting bowl of butter chicken. A decadent bar of soap for a warm shower and chewy caramel as your sewing companion. A pick-me-up note or hello card sent to a friend who just needs some extra love. A sticker for your favourite mug, or sewing machine :)

I hope that through these boxes, I have been able to bring some joy to the suppliers featured in this box and also all you fabric lovers out there! Don't miss out on the next one!!
